If you are interested in correcting your smile and fixing issues like crooked, gapped, or otherwise malpositioned teeth, but you don’t want to get traditional metal braces, Clear Correct from Dr. Timothy Shen at Trinity Family Dental could be one of the best options for you.

This unique method of orthodontic correction uses safe, comfortable, and non-invasive techniques to correct the position of your teeth. It’s convenient and affordable, and best of all, nobody has to know that you are correcting your smile!

How Does Clear Correct Work? The Basics

Clear Correct uses the same principles of operation as other plastic aligners, like Invisalign. Using a series of specialized, hard plastic aligners, the teeth are gently shifted into a better aligned position.

Clear Correct aligners are thin, clear, and nearly invisible, allowing them to be worn at any time without putting your treatment on display. This makes Clear Correct ideal for professionals or older adults who wish to correct their smile, but do not want braces.

You will wear each aligner for about 2 weeks, for 20-22 hours per day. You only need to remove your aligners to eat and drink, and to floss and brush your teeth. They can also be removed when you play contact sports.

Approximately every 6 weeks, you’ll visit Dr. Timothy Shen to get several new sets of aligners, and for a check-up to ensure that your treatment is progressing properly. This schedule may vary based on your oral health needs.

Usually, it takes around 20-24 sets of aligners to correct most orthodontic issues, so the average treatment time for Clear Correct is about a year.

Who Is Eligible For Treatment With Clear Correct?

There are two criteria for Clear Correct eligibility. First, your mouth must be healthy, and free of cavities, periodontal diseases, damaged teeth, and other such problems, which cause complications during Clear Correct treatment.

In addition, you must not have severe orthodontic issues, like very crooked teeth, jaw malpositioning, or significant over/underbite. Clear Correct can’t be used to treat these problems.

What Are The Benefits Of Treatment With Clear Correct?

Why should you choose Clear Correct to treat your orthodontic issues? Here are just a couple of reasons.

Cheaper than Invisalign – Typically, Clear Correct treatment is less expensive than treatment with competing products like Invisalign, though this may vary based on your particular needs.

Removable – You can remove Clear Correct aligners to eat and drink, so there are no food or dietary restrictions. They can also be removed to brush and floss, and when you play contact sports.

Comfortable and convenient – With Clear Correct, you do not have to experience the discomfort of braces being tightened, and you do not need to visit the dentist as frequently.
